Ronno Blues is Ronno Jaxon’s first electric Blues CD release on Rora Records and is sure to be a favorite among electric Blues fans worldwide. This album is full of electric Blues guitar in the early Cream/Eric Clapton/Stevie Ray Vaughn/Albert King style with plenty of punchy bass and emotion packed vocals, which makes for a great rockin’ Blues delight. This new eight song CD is a package of killer original Blues compositions written by Ronno Jaxon himself.
"I play loud," says Ronno. "I used to play a lot of Rock & Roll so I got used to that high volume. I can still play it loud but I keep it bluesy with plenty of tone. I am a heavy handed player too.... so I try to move it around, you know." And move around he does.
Ronno goes on, "I think my favorite electric bluesman was Albert King...but I still got to have Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy. Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn and of course Hendrix...I got it all in my head and it comes out my fingers."
"I play the Blues but sometimes the Blues plays me,” says Ronno with a smile. "I write about my life and the way I feel about...it’s personal. But at the same time, I believe that the Blues is something we all have in common. Every man and every woman on this planet has the same feelings I have. So it’s universal. Everybody gets the blues some time in their life. So in a way, I’m just sharing a little of my blues with the world." Ronno wrote all the songs on his new CD and the songs say a lot.
"I’m a guitar player first and a singer second" Ronno says as he picks up a copy of his CD, "I played Bass on this one too. I always liked playing Bass." Ronno is a multi-talented artist and it shows in his work. He has an emotional energy in his voice that is both appealing and urgent. There is enough talent and charisma here for any band anywhere and the music says it all.
Let’s check out a little groove from Ronno Jaxon now with his song, “Wicked Kiss.” This will also give you an example of Ronno’s guitar work. Enjoy! Ronno Jaxon – Wicked Kiss
